Heinz Chilli Flavored Ketchup

Image

Agency: AMV BBDO, London

I find this ad impressive because I didn’t get it when I first saw it. Sure, chillies are hot, but what does the image have to do with that? Well, at a closer look at the image you realize that the hotdog could serve as a thermometer… And it is showing high temperatures. Brilliant!

Heinz Garlic Ketchup

Image

Agency: AMV BBDO, London

This is a widely known fact about garlic. No matter how much you like the taste of it, the smell of it on someone’s breath brings you repulsion. So this is showing a simple table setting and the person that is going to eat the garlic flavored ketchup is sitting far away from the others… There is no need for people, because the idea gets through rather well without them.

Goldstar Beer – It’s easy to be a man

ImageImageImage

Agency: McCann Erickson, Tel Aviv

It’s easy to be a man. Women have so many choices when it comes to getting dressed, there is an entire ritual of going to the toilets in bars or restaurants and the whole dating scene has way more depth for them. Men are simple. This is what the advertisers tried to say through this incredibly amusing print ad. It’s a case of you either like it or hate it, but I think that it’s incredible.

Dr Oetker Carrot Cake

Image

Agency: BBDO, Düsseldorf

This is one of my all time favorite ads. Why? It is simple. They took one of the benefits of eating carrots and used it in their advantage. It is told that carrots improve your eyesight, so they just made the eye blurry, so everyone that sees it stops to think about whether there is actually a problem with their eyes or the ads is like that.

AE Investimentos Surrealistic Campaign

Agency: Leo Burnett, São Paulo

Yeah, so this is a campaign that caught my interest due to the illustration that it has. Sure, who isn’t a fool for surrealistic art, huh? I love Salvador Dali and Magritte and all of their very interesting ‘colleagues’ that performed in the art scene of the time. About this advert I can only say that the idea is interesting. The artwork does make everything more interesting, of course. You don’t want to get lost in the ‘weird’ world of investments, right? If you ask me, though, I would very much like to get into a surrealistic world whenever given the opportunity. Maybe not when money is concerned…
